In a similar vein to my comment in respect of Question 6: Jimmy Wales was one of two co–founders of Wikipedia, along with Larry Sanger. To quote Wikipedia itself: "Wales is credited with defining the goal of making a publicly editable encyclopedia, while Sanger is credited with the strategy of using a wiki to reach that goal"
